Not On Our Watch

Today Hunter did a big NO NO....while at a store with his dad and Jaylin he pocketed 2 toy jets.  We didn't find them until we got home.  Rick immediately sent him upstairs and spanked him, he also had to miss a birthday party that he'd been looking forward to for the whole summer....it was so hard for me to see him cry when he realized that he was going to miss the party.  In addition to that I took him back to the store and he had to tell the manager what he did, he borrowed $5 from me to pay for them (he had to leave them for the manager to give to someone - but he still had to pay for them and he has to pay me back through extra chores).   We will not tolerate stealing, lying, cheating or any other bad behavior.....I just hated that he had to miss a really great party (we drove by and dropped off the gift on our way to the store)...but as a parent I knew that it was the right thing to do.  It just made me sad to see him realize that even though he apologized he still had other consequences. 

I think he learned a lesson....

The police officer's son can't be a thief....good grief!  Rick was not happy....I couldn't go up and watch the spanking....he brought out the belt for that.  I don't think Hunter will take anything else again.
